Racha Zahira Ammati is an International Gender Equality and Development consultant. She is
currently preparing her PhD in Political Sciences, Public Administration and International
Relations developing her thesis on Women’s involvement in Climate Change Resilience: Case
Study of Canadian-Peruvian Cooperation .
She had the honor of presenting at the seminar on Gender Issues and Climate Change Solutions
for undergraduate students, invited by the Women’s Resource Center of the University of
Riverside California (United States). She was also an invited speaker at numerous International
Conferences on the topic of gender and women’s issues in Asia (Malaysia), Europe (Spain) and
across Canada.
Her professional goal is related to SDG 5 improving gender equality, which is linked to fighting
the main barriers that obstruct the empowerment of women and girls across social boundaries.
Filling gaps and raising awareness in different areas related to gender mainstreaming, gender
equality and development, women’s empowerment, gender equality policies and women’s
rights legislation to contribute to establish actionable change, especially across developing
countries.
She has experience working with different international organizations such as the Economic
Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN ECLAC), International Fund for
Agricultural Development (IFAD), UNESCO and The International and Ibero-American
Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP).
